Assessment & Therapy

Deirdre Tobin qualified with an honours degree in Speech & Language Therapy from Trinity College Dublin.  She also has a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Healthcare Practice and a certificate in Healthcare Management.  She is registered with CORU; a member of the Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists (IASLT) and the Independent Speech Therapists in Ireland (ISTI). 
She has completed a wide range of specific speech & language therapy courses, such as:
 Hanen 'It Takes Two to Talk', 'More than Words' and 'Talkability'.
The Michael Palin Specialist Stammering Centre's courses such as 'Parent Child Interaction' and 'Primary School Children who Stammer'
The Darbyshire Language Scheme
Michelle Garcia Winner 'Social Thinking' 
'Attention Autism'.
First Words assesses and treats children with a variety of speech, language and communication difficulties, such as language delay, developmental language disorder (DLD), speech sound disorders, developmental verbal dyspraxia (DVD), stammering and speech & language difficulties associated with hearing loss, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), general learning disabilities and cleft lip and palate.
